North Glen Square Neighborhood Association

North Glen Square Neighborhood Association has a unique and long standing background dedicated to maintaining a high quality of life for all who reside in our area of Phoenix.
Our early beginning was prompted when in about 1973 a major developer filed for rezoning a large residential vacant property on 27th Ave for high density, low rent apartments. Neighbors were very concerned over issues of parking, noise and the number of renters. The area was already home to a number of apartments. An initial small group was formed which immediately attracted other interested neighbors. They adopted the name which we still use today, "North Glen Square." We had a large representation at the zoning and city council meetings, and the plan was rejected and never refiled.

Recognizing our first effort was a great success, we quickly organized formally with a board of directors and officers - a format we continue to use to this day. Over the years, we have had an exceptional success rate primarily because we have been open minded and worked with both residents and developers to make win/win settlements. For example, changing apartments to condominiums, decreasing density, improving setbacks and adding landscaping.

Today we are one of the oldest and most respected neighborhood groups in the city.
